“gosh I really need something for my bad memory”, yes but would you remember to take it? 😀

Great shot (wherever it is!). Love the way the posts lead you into the picture. 🙂

I have a terrible memory too. I often take photos as a memory aid; looking at the image even years later, I can remember exactly where I was in a way that place names just don’t do it for me. I have a very visual memory. You must have a verbal memory. Unfortunately, with digital images, it’s not as easy as it used to be when you could jot down a few details on the back of a print.

I have a similar problem and usually have to ask one of the family where a site is. I did come up with the idea of using my little MP3 player as a dictaphone, simply quoting the frame number and the location – but I always forget to take it with me!
When I’m out doing my church thing, I try to take pictures of the notice board outside, but I don’t always remember to do that either – GoogleEarth has often come to the rescue.
In your picture, I would have liked to see the near post cut the horizon line.

I understand the memory thing. I keep saying that I’m going to carry around a little notebook and keep notes, but it is such a bore. Then I say that I’ll remember, but I don’t. Then I say that I will label the photos as I download them, but I get too engrossed in the fun of editing. For the record: someplace in England is close enough for me. I enjoy our photos for their artistic quality not as a recording of time and place. That can work for both of us!

Love this. My guess is that the black and white brings out the contrasting textures more than colour would. Like ckponderings, I enjoy being lead into the photgraph by the posts.
